Grace & Truth exists to point people to Jesus! We hope this link-up will be a source of encouragement each and every week. If you’re a blogger our hope is that you’ll use this space as a way to meet new friends within the Christian blogging community. If you’re a reader our hope is that you’ll meet new bloggers that love Jesus just as much as you do! Most of all, we hope you’ll meet Jesus here.

At the beginning of each new link-up week, the Hosts will post their favorite post of the week, to be “featured” (see below for directions on how to be featured!).

Welcome to Grace & Truth Week 13! Spring is having fun with us in Indiana! We’ve had not only April showers, but April hailstorms! It’s been quite crazy to tell you the truth. Hail a bit bigger than quarters. Power outages. And then, the sun comes out and it’s gorgeous. Indiana is always a bit temperamental weather-wise, but I’m beginning to wonder about it lately!

If you’re new to Grace&Truth, welcome! If you’re a veteran, I’m so thankful you’re sticking with us! 🙂

This week, I chose Tiffiney’s post “Why It’s OK for Christian Moms to Keep-it-Real (and why Michelle Obama might not approve).”

Anyone who has read my blog for a while knows how much I love authenticity, being real, and being transparent. I am a daily failure and admit it openly. I love it when other people open up and show their shortcomings as well, so we can all know we’re not alone.

I have totally been where she is coming from, and I’d love for you to go read it on her site. But here’s a quote:

This post is for the REAL mom…the one who wanted to read her Bible at the crack of dawn, but fell into bed two hours prior, rocking a colicky baby to sleep. When she finally awakens, her kids keep her busy with spills and diaper changes and feedings, and all the while she’s telling herself she’s going to get to her Bible. And then it’s time for dinner and to please Dad, and to clean up, and bathe and put the kids to bed. All of a sudden it’s 10pm and the Bible finally opens while she’s sitting up in bed, but her head drops right between its parted pages – she’s out like a light! And she lives everyday feeling inadequate when comparing herself to other Christian moms.

Seriously, go read it!!

Congratulations, Tiffiney! I realize you’re being “Double Featured” this week, so double congratulations! 🙂

Here is a button, if you’d like to post it. 🙂

JennAbout Jenn: I’m a Christian wife to an amazing man (since 1998) and a stay-at-home-teaching mom to four special & incredible boys (born in 2004, 2005, 2007, & 2009). I’m messy and cluttered, but working on that (really, I am!). I’m a discouraged perfectionist and a classic procrastinator who probably has both ADD & Autism, so I tend to jump from topic to topic (and activity to activity) without notice. My Love Languages are Words of Affirmation and Physical Touch. I’m an INFP who enjoys friends but loves to be alone. I love getting and giving hugs, and encouragement is a Spiritual gift of mine that can too-easily be turned into the weapon of discouragement, if I’m not careful. I enjoy writing, singing, words, drawing, photography, digital creations, and reading. Oh, and pizza, tacos, and steak. Now I’m hungry. That reminds me; I eat gluten free and try to eat organic and avoid white sugar and GMOs as much as possible.  Find me on Facebook (Writer/Editor page) (Fan page), Twitter, Pinterest, or Instagram.

  1. Hi Jen!

Thanks so much for featuring my post! Even reading your intro to my post encourages me to be more transparent when I write. (Why is it that we always feel that we’re the only one struggling and stumbling and trying to find our way?)

Blessings to you and the entire busy being blessed community!
