I can’t remember the last time I’ve written a poem! Today, while snuggling and kissing my almost five year old (how is that possible?!), I had to stop to write this down, because it just hit me. I love hearing their giggles and laughter. I love that they still love kisses (well, at least he does) and hugs. That won’t always be the case.

As time goes on, I realize more and more how quickly it slips through our fingers. The chubby faced boys I held and snuggled now turn away from a kiss and hug. Cherish every moment you have, parents! You’ll  regret time NOT spent with them, not time spent with them. <3

Just thought I would share it with you.

Take time! Any amount will do! 🙂

Q for You:
What’s something you love doing with your kiddos that takes only a few minutes each day but cements in their hearts that you love and adore them? Share with us in the comments. 🙂

God bless,
Jenn

JennAbout Jenn: I’m a Christian wife to an amazing man (since 1998) and a stay-at-home-teaching mom to four special & incredible boys (born in 2004, 2005, 2007, & 2009). I’m messy and cluttered, but working on that (really, I am!). I’m a discouraged perfectionist and a classic procrastinator who probably has both ADD & Autism, so I tend to jump from topic to topic (and activity to activity) without notice. My Love Languages are Words of Affirmation and Physical Touch. I’m an INFP who enjoys friends but loves to be alone. I love getting and giving hugs, and encouragement is a Spiritual gift of mine that can too-easily be turned into the weapon of discouragement, if I’m not careful. I enjoy writing, singing, words, drawing, photography, digital creations, and reading. Oh, and pizza, tacos, and steak. Now I’m hungry. That reminds me; I eat gluten free and try to eat organic and avoid white sugar and GMOs as much as possible.  Find me on Facebook (Writer/Editor page) (Fan page), Twitter, Pinterest, or Instagram.

    1. Thanks so much, Lux! I love how it turned out.

  1. Love this. As an empty nester I know time flies by all too quickly. Thankfully my kids 20 & 23 1/2 still let me hug them. The eldest will actually wait until I let go to let go of me.

    thanks for the smile
