wow! imagine the odds – the friday five matches my tough topic thursday!!

1. Were you raised in a particular religious faith? i was raised in a Christian home. we have visited many different denominational churches, mainly baptist, but now we are in a non-denom. Bible-based church. most closely affiliated with the Berean church.

2. Do you still practice that faith? Why or why not? yes – faith is not something that can be practiced. it’s something that you believe, and if you do believe, your lifestyle and actions will follow accordingly.

3. What do you think happens after death? i believe at one point, Christians will be in heaven and non-Christians will be in hell. hard, tough, but true.

4. What is your favorite religious ritual? i don’t have a religious ritual. ick. but three of my favorite things to do to commune with my Lord are: sing praises to Him, talk with Him (prayer) and read His Word (the Bible).

5. Do you believe people are basically good? NO! people are basically sinful. there is no true good in anyone. only Jesus can make anyone worthy.

well toestepping anyone?

i was reading tammy’s blog entry and i totally agree with her. i am addicted to my computer. no, she didn’t say i was, she said she was, but you get the point. this inanimate thing seems to be coming before other things in my life. sure, i get off to clean and straighten up the house, but what about the rest of my day? am i spending any of this time with the Lord?
i don’t have a job or a car, so i can’t be out looking for a job, but i have even given up on looking in the classifieds. my daily life seems to revolve around this computer, especially the internet, and it’s just wrong.
please pray for me, and if you don’t see me around as much, whether it be posting in my own blog, or leaving you all tag messages, know that i’m ok, that i don’t hate you, that i am trying to do the right thing. it’s going to be hard for me, so i’ll need prayer, along with the infertility journey. 🙂 thanks a bunch. i really am thankful for the internet because i have met so many wonderful ladies – sisters in Christ and true blue pals.

God bless and have a wonderful november 1st! (i cannot believe how fast the year has gone!!!!)

Hi Honey! I think my post about priorities and quantity of time on the computer struck a chord with lots of people. I LOVE the friends I have online, but I need to spend more time with Jesus (my BEST friend)!! So I will be praying for you regarding balance in your life and about your infertility struggles. Remember–fear is the opposite of faith. Trust Him and hold onto Proverbs 3:5-6. Love you sweetie!!! (((((Big hugs!!!)))))

  2. Okay.. first off… I promise to post only ONCE today – hee hee.
Okay.. first off… I promise to post only ONCE today – hee hee… (sorry about yesterday ;-))

I will be praying for you re: computer times cuz I too struggle with the exact same thing. Balance… one of life’s important lessons!!

Wishing you balance in your time too – hugs & prayers

  3. 1. Were you raised in a particular religious faith? I was raised
    1. Were you raised in a particular religious faith? I was raised Baptist and like you have visited other churches ie: Penticostal Holiness, Methodist,, Presbeterian and Catholic!! I enjoy learning about other religions!!

    2. Do you still practice that faith? Why or why not? yes, mostly because it was the way I was raised but I appreciate the way the holiness are not shy about shouting praises to God and raising their hands in adoration.

    3. What do you think happens after death? This is a question I pondered for some time after the death of my daddy!! In studying my Bible I came across scripture where God warns us not to seek spiritualist or speak with the dead and then of course the scripture in Revelations that states the dead in Christ shall rise on His return!! I asked my pastor how eulogys tell loved ones their loved one are now in heaven and he said their spirits are in the presense of God!!

    4. What is your favorite religious ritual? For me it is saying a prayer of thanks to God each and every day!! I have learned with all I have lost the past few years if I count my blessing by thanking God for each and everyone, I find I have way more than I thought!!

    5. Do you believe people are basically good? While I know we are all sinners, yes I believe most people are basically good!! To say no is like when some blame certain races for this or that because of what a few of their race have done!! While we are all sinners, by God’s grace good shines in a lot more people than you might think 🙂

Thought I’d try your Friday 5…hope it was ok!! Now about you and your computer addiction 🙂 I don’t know how much time you spend doing stuff other than sharing here, but do you realize how much good this site does!! Each of us is a disciple of Christ (those that believe) and what you share here is spreading the truth about Christ!! You may never know how many decided to accept Christ because of something they found here and how many whose faith may have been faltering that was renewed by your struggle with infertility!! You come across as a strong Christain secure in her faith…there are those that need that!! Remember what I said about concentrating on where God needs you…maybe He needs you here sharing Him and the strength of your faith with others!! Just something to think about *HUGS* Hope you have a wonderful Friday!!.
