The Fever Goes On

thanks to those of you who are concerned with jeremiah. no, julie, his fever isn’t better.
soooooo, what do you suggest with helping a toddler with a fever but no other real outward symptoms (as in, coughing, runny nose, etc)??
since thursday at about 5, he has run a temp in between 101-103, off and on. meaning, sometimes i need to give him tylenol to bring it down; other times, the tylenol has worn off but no fever is present. and sometimes he is ultra clingy, needing to be held, not wanting to play, others he will play fine like his usual self. his eating has also gone down – he really doesn’t want to eat anything besides some fruit, and he is drinking a lot.
and what do you do when the tylenol doesn’t do anything to help the fever go down?? i only have tylenol and can’t go out to get ibuprofin right now. otherwise i would just use that.
i am trying not to be worried but he gets sick so often i am wondering what it is this time. and i know the dr told me this fever isn’t connected with his fall, but that little annoying accusing voice inside keeps saying ‘what if it is from his fall???’
any advice on any of it???

i am at the end of my rope. i sure hope him being sick all the time as a baby/toddler means his immune system will be built up for when he’s older. i hate him being in pain, and i hate not knowing what to do for him.

please vote for echo in this contest. she deserves it! 😀

happy mothers’ day, to all of my mama pals. i hope you and your lil ones and your own mamas have a wonderful day!!

Oh, I’m sorry that he’s still sick. How hard on ALL of you. I don’t know what to suggest for the fever, since you can’t get ibruprofen. When my kids get a high fever, giving them both Tylenol and Ibruprophen together kicks it fast. (an advice nurse told me that once.)

    Praying that he’s well soon!!!!

    Hugs,

It’s not an ear ache is it? Sarrah had a cold but was soo cranky. My mom finally told me to take her in to the doc. Turned out she had bronchialitis and an ear ache! Once we started the antibotics for the ear ache she perked up right away. (Sarrah’s eating had slowed down too. I chalked it up to teething… but it really was the ears.)

  3. I hope Jeremiah feels better soon.
I hope Jeremiah feels better soon. I also wanted to wish you a very Happy Mother’s Day!

  4. Happy Mother’s Day! I wish I had some advice, but I really haven
Happy Mother’s Day! I wish I had some advice, but I really haven’t had any experience with that kind of prevalent fever with Eli… Although I would say to trust your gut. Really. If you feel something is wrong, make them check him over and over. It’s worth annoying a doctor if there IS something happening to your son.
