the doorstep of autumn

i almost forgot that i wanted to do an autumn poem every now and then. i LOVE autumn. 🙂

The Doorstep of Autumn
-Georgia B Adams

Here on the doorstep of autumn
The winds are crisp and swift;
The sky above is zure and
With cloud-ships is drift.

Jack Frost has touched the hillsides,
They’re bursting into flame.
There’s thin ice on the birdbath…
This season gathers fame.

As walks all through the country
Bring scenery at its best,
Right here on autumn’s doorstep
I am a welcomed guest.

I love the change of seasons
When winds are crisp and swift,
When skies above are azure and
With cloud-ships are adrift.
