i feel HORRIBLE. it’s official. it’s morning sickness. only it’s last-all-day-until-i-want-to-die-sickness. morning sickness would be too kind.
i finally got the dr to prescribe zofran for me. you know, the miracle drug that helped me through jeremiah’s pregnancy? well, with our new insurance, our copay for it is 75 bucks. 75 bucks people for 20 pills!!!! so i can’t have any of my healing medicine. i have to cope and try something else.
what can i do??? i am vomiting and feeling like i’m going to vomit when i’m not vomiting. i am miserable and my son and house are suffering for it.
please pray for me. i don’t know what i’ll do if this doesn’t end by the second trimester.
dear bean,
i love you so much and am so happy about you, but please forgive mama for feeling miserable.

I am so sorry you feel so bad. I had morning sickness for both of my pregnancies, it lasted all day and night and for the full length of the pregnancy, I barely gained weight even, so I completely understand. No meds helped either, sometimes wearing seabands, motion sickness wristbands, helped but not always. It might be worth a try if you havent tried it yet. I also found eating a bowl of ice cream helped sometimes, I know who feels like eating when you want to throw up but somehow it helped. Hope you feel better soon!

Ugh! So sorry you’re feeling less than stellar.
Ugh! So sorry you’re feeling less than stellar. I never got it so I can’t relate but I understand it’s no fun at all. My sister took B12 and something (don’t remember what the “something” was though) and said it worked great for her.

    I’ll second what Misty said, except I think it’s B6, not B12.

    Hey Jenn,
Have you heard about taking 1/2 of a Unisom and Vitamin B-12 together? It is really supposed to do wonders for HG. DO a google search and see what it comes up with. It’s worth a shot.

Oh Jenn, I am sorry you are so sick… Were you this sick with Jeremiah? I don’t remember… Maybe it’s a sign of multiples??? 😉 … I know, I always think of that first.

That’s a rediculous amount for a prescription… What does the generic cost, of not run through your insurance? We pay a $30.00 co-pay for rx, but for cheap things like the kid’s flouride, we don’t have them run it through under our insurance, and just pay actual cost, which is under $10.00…. If we ran it through with insurance we’d be paying $20.00 MORE than we have too… Huh? Isn’t that stupid!?!

Anyway, wish I had some words of wisdom, but what little nausea I got, I could always settle with some milk…. So, I’m no help. Sorry!

Will be praying you get some relief!!!

    Hugs!!
    Julie

sorry you are feeling so bad..I was feeling that was a few weeks ago. I just got over my morning sickness about 2 weeks ago. My doctor prescribed me Reglan and Phenergan and neither really helped. The Phenergan knocked me out. The Reglan just made me hungry lol…
I’ll keep you in my prayers ((hugs))

You POOR thing. I can completely sympathize– I’ve been throwing up all day too, and when I’m not, I’m begging Jason to make whatever sounds good at the moment. I forgot how lousy this time is. I would have said something earlier but I haven’t even been able to sit at the computer for more than three minutes without rushing to the bathroom. I’ll be thinking of you when I’m at my worst. 🙂 We’re in this together!

Oh, mama, I feel for you (( hugs )) Prayers going out … and as a mama who was sick all day every day for my entire pregnancy, I’ll leave you with Kara’s short list of things that worked for me:

    – peppermint lifesavers, all day long I HAD to one in my mouth or felt totally crappy. My sister swears by lemon drops
    – making what we called a “brick” a la’ my good friend Kelly: a peanut butter sandwich. Somehow having that heavy thing in my stomach kept me from heaving. I know, sounds gross, but worked. Staying full, or at least not getting hungry by eating a sandwich from time to time helped.
    – other things that were nice to my tummy: yogurt, avocados, and I loved to eat celery sticks w/ cream cheese (often just dipping the sticks right in the tub).
    – ginger tea by the gallon LOL
    – I read in Dr. Sears about sniffing lemons and that sounds weird, but a lot of my tummy troubles were brought on by yucky smells, so sniffing a lemon did help

    Hang in there, super mama!

Big hugs Jenn.. I know how you feel.. my first pregnancy was like that.. and I had an “old fashon” doctor who just chalked it up as I was over reacting… and wouldn’t try any medications to help me.. I found alternatives that helped me some.. Dry things.. like pretzels helped a little.. and Sprite.. helped.. I can’t stand the taste of it now.. but it helped then..
lots of hugs.. I hope that the second trimester is 100% better..

Sorry Jenn but I will give you the same advice as last time.
Sorry Jenn but I will give you the same advice as last time. Seabands or motion sick bands are suppose to help. Being that I have never had it myself it is hard to suggest stuff other than what my gal pals have used. Maybe you can call the drug company that makes that medicine and tell them your situation and they often will send you some. My parents had to do that for one of my Moms medicines and MERCK the drug company sent her her RX. Love ya and hang in there!
