well i had a dr’s visit today, and everything was fine. i am however a bit disappointed with something. i don’t get to get the tell-all ultrasound (when we find out the gender) for another month!! wah!!! i really wanted to find out sooner. i will be 21 weeks by then, over halfway!! i guess it’s better for me to be farther along so they have a better chance of seeing the goods, but it seems like an eternity. i know some people think i’m really ridiculous about wanting to know what gender the baby is so badly. i promise no matter the outcome – whichever the baby is, i will still be madly in love!!
the dr asked if i’d like to do the triple screen test, for spina bifida, down’s and something else…i said no. was that bad of me? i just figured it didn’t matter either way. jerry said he would like to know ahead of time to prepare for something bad, but me, i would much rather NOT know if something was wrong, because if i did i would be upset for the rest of the pregnancy, trying to cope. not that i would love the baby any less at all, i would just be sad about that. does that seem wrong and selfish of me? i don’t know. i’m just being honest.
i have gained 2 lbs which the dr was very happy about. and the baby’s heartbeat was 155 this time. i NEVER get tired of hearing that heartbeat!!!
wow, it’s storming here, so i’d better shut down the computer in case of lightning.
blessings!

    Hi Jenn & Peanut 🙂
How are you two doing? I would be buzzing as a bee mad if I could not find out yet what I was having. Another month when you are pregnant probably seems like a long time.
I ran across some darling dresses today and wanted to buy them for little peanut but if it is a boy that would be a NO NO…tee hee!
I would pass on the tests too because as Christains we see it as fruitless to see what is wrong with our babies as we will never abort anyway.
It is hot here at 104 degrees and we are set to move on the 25th. I wish I could come out and be at your baby shower but I am going to make a tape for you and send it so I am there in spirit. I love you like a sis and take care of yourself and little peanut.
    BTW….Hi Jerry!!
    Love,
    Autumn

I’m finally commenting on your website.

I understand what you mean about it taking forever to find out the gender. I didn’t think the day would ever come, but of course it did. Obviously I don’t think it’s crazy to find out the gender–it’s a personal choice. We did it because we are planners and want to have things ready for her, besides I’ve never been very patient!
As for the triple screen test, I did choose to have it done, not because I would have ever considered an abortion (because I am very much against them) but just to be more prepared in case something was wrong. Fortunately everything came out okay in the test. That’s another thing that’s just a personal choice.
Good luck for the rest of your pregnancy! I will be back to visit soon!

    Hi Jenn,

All my ultrasounds were from 20 to 21 weeks gestation… This is just the time that my clinic does them. But it is hard to wait! LOL! ANd I found out with everyone what we were having… Joe and I are just too impatient to wait! LOL! And I like being able to call the baby by name, instead of “the baby” all the time 🙂 … Plus, you can call them by name to them before they are born, as they do hear you in the last trimester.

My little Amanda will be here in just 12 1/2 days! I can’t wait!!!

    Hugs

Our doc never even offered the tests.
Our doc never even offered the tests. Just as well, we wouldn’t have done them. (First of all because it wouldn’t have changed the outcome, second because NOTHING is a 100% and why fret when the tests could be wrong anyways… and third because we don’t even fall into the ‘high’ risk catagory for most of those things. I hate needles, why endure them when I don’t have too?)

My doc also hasn’t said anything about the glucose test. Don’t you normally do those around week 24?

    Hi Jenn,
Glad to hear you are coming along well with your pregnancy.
My sister is due late September and she is having a boy she is naming “Sean” it is their first baby and they just got married so a lot of adjusting going on.
As for finding out what sex the baby is it’s hard to wait to find out. And even then don’t be dissapointed if they cannot tell. My 2nd pregnancy was like this. I knew I was having a girl but they couldn’t confirm on sono untill the very end. I guess with girls it’s harder to tell. Either way I know you will be happy you just want to know so you can ~~PLAN~~ and that’s important. JenD
