How I Shop the Clearance Rack at Kohl’s

If I were to pick just ONE clothing store I had to shop at for the rest of my life, it would be (well, aside from Victoria’s Secret)….bet you guessed it….Kohl’s!

And here are MY reasons why:

1. I can find just about everything I need, and more often than not WANT, shopping in just one place. This is handy for those of you that aren’t particularly fond of shopping. 🙂

2. The entire store is usually on sale. When it’s not on sale, it’s on clearance. And the clearance rack is where I do most of my shopping. Preferably the 70%-80% off rack.

3. On this 80% off rack, I will stack a 30% off store coupon (they send these in the mail). If I’m shopping online (like I’m doing today) I’ll wait til I can get a code for free shipping to sweeten the deal.

4. If I spend over $50 (and I usually do, but not today), not only do I get all these % off discounts, but I get $10 Kohls cash back for every $50 I spend (providing you shop during the promotional time period, about once a month).

First, if you haven’t already, I would highly recommend signing up for a Kohl’s credit/store card. (Before Jenn and Cara freak out on me, you don’t have to use it to purchase things if you don’t want to!) This is the best and simplest way to receive their coupons in the mail. You can also sign up via email, but I can’t remember the last time I received a 30% off (their highest value) coupon in an email. Your best bet is getting them via old fashioned snail mail. The code can be used both in store and online.

If you do decide to use your Kohl’s credit card to get the extra percentage off, you can turn right around and pay for your purchase in store with a debit card or check, which is what I like to do, so I don’t forget about it once I’m home.

Today I am going to show you how I bought 4 items for under $25, and saved over $90 ($6 of that was shipping)!!!

This is probably the one purchase I shouldn’t have made today, but I fell in love with it! I just can’t resist a trendy maxi dress. 🙂 Especially when it’s only 19 bucks!!!
I paid $13.44 after my 30% off coupon and saved $34.56.

I needed two tank tops in these exact colors, so I was thrilled when I saw them in the clearance section.
I paid $5.04 for both tanks, and saved $18.96.

This was a “buy ahead” purchase for this coming fall. It’s adorable, trendy, and easy to wear and just plain cute.
I paid $5.04 and saved $30.96.

Let me break it down for you:

You are allowed 2 coupon codes per order. I used “SAVENOW30” for 30% off my entire order, and “SAVINGMVC” for free shipping.

If you would like to take advantage of the “$10 Kohls Cash when you spend $50”, just add $72.00 worth of merchandise to your cart and use the 30% off code.
It should come to $50.40. The $10 Kohls cash promotion ends May 18th, 2014. But don’t worry, it’ll be back. 🙂
